Porridge – love it or hate it


What is the secret of a delicious porridge? As simple as it is, you have to make it from scratch. All these instant and quick packs are too expensive and not as good as a freshly made one.

Here my secret for a yummie and nutricious porridge (for 1 person):

  • half a cup of oats
  • a cup of almond milk (or whatever is your preferred milk)
  • add dried raisins, chia seeds, freezed berry mix (fresh ones are of course much better if in season), any other fruits and nuts you like, honey (can be replaced by agave or maple syrup)
  • let everything boil, turn down the heat and let it cook for another 3 minutes until a slightly thick consistency is reached (in total it takes you max. 5-10 minutes)

Serve the hot porridge in your favourite breakfast bowl and enjoy!

Especially in autumn and winter a great way to start a cold day and it will keep you full until lunchtime, promised.

Nice to know:
Oats are full of minerals, vitamines and fibre. And porridge is proven to lower cholesterol, prevent heart disease and boost serotonin.
