A day in… London

Wake up at:

The Cavendish **** Prime location – it doesn’t get much better. The hotel is centrally located in London’s West End (only a few minutes walking distance to Piccadilly Circus). The hotel has a nice restaurant on the first floor which serves continental buffet breakfast as well as a selection of warm à la carte options which are included. The hotel is more business than leisure hotel, therefore you can expect a very calm night in one of the comfy hotel beds. A lot of sightseeing spots can be seen within walking distance, which is very convenient. There’s a underground station within a few minutes walking distance as well. Overall a great place to stay and to explore the city…

Eat at:

Gourmet Burger which offers very tasty and fresh burgers. The place is very popular and have the best sweet potato chips! We unfortunately did not get a table at Ceviche, which was fully booked but still worth to mention since it has been highly recommended by a dear friend. The restaurant offers Peruvian kitchen and a cozy interior. Next time we will make sure to book a table in advance. More places to check out are Honey & Co, The Ivy Chealsea Garden, Sketch, Boundary, Granger & Co, Quick & Healthy: If you want a fast but still healthy lunch option and at a reasonable price, then go to Pret a Manger, which you will find at every corner in London. They offer a wide selection of freshly made sandwiches, salads, soups as well as coffee and sweets etc. They have no sell by date on their food, which they give out for charity by the end of the day. That’s a great concept! Another fast and healthy option is Wasabi Sushi & Bento which offers high quality sushi at an affordable price. What’s quite unique about them is the fact that they have individually wrapped pieces of sushi, which gives you the chance to experiment and to find out what you prefer most…

Afternoon Tea at:

Fortnum & Mason, a beautiful and luxurious department store with all kinds of English specialties. Of course there are also plenty of other trendy coffee places in town where to enjoy a coffee and cake, one suggestion is Roots & Bulbs

Stroll around:

The Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and have a look at the beautiful and elegant houses, enjoy a walk through St. James Park and known Hyde Park…

Shop around:

First time in London, you have to check out the famous Oxford Street, Regent Street, Bond Street, Carnaby Street, Mayfair, Covent Garden as well as the high end department stores Liberty, Harrods and Selfridges. Additional stores I cannot run past: Whole Foods, Antrophology, Uniqlo, Aquascutum, Kikki.K…
